Bloody Bushwhacker novel by Murphy Author

Murphy N.C. writer Wally Avett has launched a mountain work of fiction,REBEL BUSHWHACKER (W&B Publishers,Inc.).
"It’s a fast-moving, hard-hitting tale fashioned from true Civil War events that happened in the Ocoee River gorge, where Tennessee,North Carolina and Georgia join," the release states.
“The War Between the States was a vicious guerilla struggle here in these mountains,” Avett says. “I’ve heard and read these stories and molded them into this book of fiction. It’s both tough and tender.”

MURDER IN CANEY FORK , his first, was released in April and became an Amazon best-seller in e-books in October, the release notes. Paperbacks and downloads are available at Amazon,Barnes & Noble and other online outlets. LAST BIGFOOT IN DIXIE features a small mountain town terrorized first by a killer bear and then a local narco-thug. It was released in November.
Avett will be presenting both BUSHWHACKER and BIGFOOT in a book-signing Friday, March 27 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the Murphy library. The author will make a brief talk on local history that inspired both books.
