In one week, and two days - a lifetime after the Obama-Romney showdown; Daisy-lovers will celebrate this great woman's 98th Birthday. I remember, like it was yesterday, when she left us in 1999. She left a vacuum in Arkansas history and Arkansas's concsience. Though she was aged, and ailing at the time, she was still here, still ours; and still giving anyone who dared to forget what the "war of `57" was all about; a piece of her mind.

I loved that little lady, A stroke had taken away the sharpness of her tongue, but her bright eyes took its place. She didn't suffer fools lightly. My father, who was a Baptist Deacon in the strictest sense of the word, called Daisy `one of Arkansas' greatest leaders in the state's history." To get T.J. Kearney to say that about a woman was nothing less than a miracle...and, that miracle was Daisy, the inimitable Daisy.  Please join me on November 14th, as I light a candle to Daisy's memory. And, if you really want to make her smile up there...toast her, with a good glass of white wine, too....
