Landon Godfrey posted an eventThe Asheville Poetry Review hosts the 2013 William Matthews Poetry Prize with final judge, Patricia Smith. A poet, teacher, performance artist, and author, Smith has published 8 books, many of which are award-winning. Her work has been featured in the 2011 editions of Best American Poetry and Best American Essays. The Pushcart Prize winner and four-time National Poetry Slam champion will be the judge in the "blind" final round, in which all identifying information will be removed from the poems.
The Asheville Poetry Review will take submissions from September 15th, 2012 through January 15th, 2013. Poets may send 1-3 poems of any style, theme, and length with a $20 entry fee.
1st prize will recieve $1,000,
publication by Asheville Poetry Review,
and featured reading
at the nationally acclaimed Malaprop's Bookstore
2nd prize will recieve $250,
2nd and 3rd prize recieve publication
and reading at Malaprop's
