I forget there is a blog here and I doubt that anyone reads it. Just in case, since I rambled on in my last antique post about what to write, I wanted to mention that I did write something this year.

I returned to my first love in fiction and found absolute joy in composing my first Young Adult novel, which remarkably found representation in two days with the most incredibly wonderful agent in the world (do I admit to hyperbole? -- never ever in a million zillion years).

Anyway, the book has now been placed with HarperCollins. The novel, set in the fictional town of Ashland (aw gee, wonder where that is?), will be released in hardcover as a HarperTeen in the summer of 2011.

Wow, that's a long time off and titles are always a little iffy at this point. So I can't really say what the working title is because it may disappear.

And, yes, as is my bent, the story is full of ghosts. Since I got my head and heart stuck back in high school, I think I'll stay there a bit and write another YA.

Great news, Randy! Does it take place at the Juvenile Detention Center? (Yes, blogs work well on this site because they go up on the front page, and in the front page list of new additions.)
