First 2012 “BOOKS & BITES” Author Luncheon at Lake Lure Inn

The Friends of the Mountains Branch Library in Lake Lure are kicking off the 2012 season of their Books & Bites program with the launch of Rose Senehi’s sixth book, Render Unto the Valley, on Thursday, January 19 at 11:30 at the Lake Lure Inn. This is the third “stand-alone” novel in her Southern Blue Ridge Series.

Rose Senehi lives in Chimney Rock and writes about southern families caught in the struggle to hold onto their land. Render Unto the Valley is a tale of three generations of a star-crossed family struggling to mend itself and preserve something of its heritage. The people in her community inspired many of the characters in the novel and they will be introduced at the Books & Bites event.

Her novel, In the Shadows of Chimney Rock, was a finalist for the SIBA Book Award as the Best in Southern Literature in 2009. The Wind in the Woods, the second stand-alone novel in her Southern Blue Ridge Series was nominated for the Thomas Wolfe Memorial Award.

Tickets are $25 and available by phone (828-625-0456) or in person at The Mountains Branch Library on Bills Creek Road in Lake Lure.  For more information please call 828-625-0456.
