A Visit With Laura Ingalls Wilder

On Saturday, June 20 at 10:30 - 12:30, children are invited to join the Crafty Historian for a visit and picnic style tea party with Laura Ingalls Wilder at the Asheville History Center at Smith-McDowell House. Miss Daphne Ruth Darcy will interpret an older Laura Ingalls Wilder reflecting on her first year as a bride.
Gingerbread cake from Mrs. Wilder's own recipe will be served with tea and lemonade. Participants will also make a small craft to take home. This event is appropriate for children aged 6 to 12. Younger siblings are welcome with adult supervision.
Reservations are required and the fee is $5.00 for adults and $10 for children. Call 253-9231 or email email@example.com by Thursday, June 18.

The Asheville History Center is located at the Smith-McDowell House, a restored period house and history museum located at 283 Victoria Road on the campus of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. Hours of operation are Wednesday through Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
