Yesterday, on the Ides of March, my book, Forests, Alligators, Battlefields: My Journey through the National Parks of the South, was officially launched – a soft launch.
I'll be launching it at Malaprops on Friday April 8 at 7 pm.
To celebrate the National Park Service Centennial, I visited 71 park units in the Southeast. Forests, Alligators, Battlefields: My Journey through the National Parks of the South, is my personal contribution to the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. Readers meet the historic figures, rangers, volunteers, park partners, and visitors - the people who bring each park to life. I put a historical and personal spin on my travels. In my attempt to become a Southerner one park at a time, I show that every national park has a human story as well as great scenery.
You're all invited.
