I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this book fest. I was completely surprised that this was their first gathering. Well done!
I only hope I will be a part of it next year, as an author, in some capacity.
Gary Carden is a jewel. Can I now say that I have a big ole crush on Mr. Carden (teehee). He always looks as if he's just about to give you a big old wink, but doesn't - which is why I like that better - the promise of a big old wink without the actual doing of it....there is a twinkle of mischeif in those eyes, too. I sat spellbound, and thoroughly entertained throughout his session. And, Lucky Me, was able to have dinner with Mr. Carden, Vicki Lane, and Carol Murdock...a fine end to a lovely day.
Jeff Biggers was a surprise - and I've been doing more "studying up" on the mountaintop removal he spoke about. What a dynamic speaker! I bought his book and have just started it.
Vicki Lane's session was delightful. Warm, funny, sincere...I bet her writing is just like that, and I told her I do not read mysteries, but now I had a hankering to read one of hers.
If you missed the book fest, then go next year. In fact, there are other book fests in our area - check them out and let's support our storytellers, poets, writers, and booksellers and all those who support them!
