Angelina Jolie as Serena?

There's a joke whose punch line goes like this "One of our boys did it".

Ron Rash's Serena may be made into a film with Angelina Jolie as Serena.

Whether or not, she actually comes through, just the buzz is wonderful. We can all say we knew Ron Rash when his second book "Saints at the River" was a "Together we read" book selection. And now, his fourth will be a movie. That also infuses other WNC authors with potential and dreams.

And though I don't think that my hiking guides Hiking the Carolina Mountains and Hiking North Carolina's Blue Ridge Heritage will be made into movies, it will give national visibility to the WNC mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. ANd that's all good.
