At City Lights Saturday 1/22 at 2:00 without my appendix

Last time my angry appendix kept me from my reading/signing/whatever you want to call it at City Lights - I ended up in the emergency room at 2 in the morning and when I asked the doc if I could make it to City Lights for my thang, he just laughed!

So, this Saturday, the 22nd, at 2, I will be there with my new book Sweetie -- unless, of course, we have a bunch of snow and/or ice! Lawd!

Hope to see you there.

From Asheville Citizen Times Ron Neufeld's column on books . . .

Just ordered "Alone With You: Stories"
Marisa Silver - - looking forward to reading. Love short stories!

Have also been ordering books from authors on twitter - those who are "unknown" or even self-published. It's important to me to support writers/authors. The "little known" authors need our help, too!

Love the Books section and hope it never goes away. A newspaper books columnist friend in Louisiana may lose his book section and that saddens me -hope he doesn't!
