i have not yet read the site but i am interested to get to it soon as so many of the families in willkes county came to that part on nc to settle i guess around the 18 30 -4 0's including my great great grandmother who had remarried , many of the holbrooks i think also came the plotts i think but i will have to look back at the deed to determine that infromation. i attended western carolina in the 60's but then i was not aware of this information so i enjoy find out about the area .

Hi, Ginny - How nice to hear from you. Haven't been around the area of Elkin that much, ourselves. Not sure if it's all that close to you, but I recall driving down Fancy Gap. I was told many of the locals wouldn't even attempt that challenge. Do you do any special type of writing? I enjoy comedy and that's what I like about my "Mattie" book. The sequel will be out soon, by the way.
