Flat Rock history via a road

Travelling back in time on a Flat Rock roadby Rob Neufeld             If you walk the one mile length of North Highland Lake Road in Flat Rock, you step nearly 200 years into the past.            At the east end, the 21st century reigns.  Fronting six-lane Spartanburg Highway, a super-Ingles sits above a bog; and a CVS store faces an Octopus Garden smoke shop, a chiropractor, a cell phone provider, and a six-lane avenue to I-26 a mile away .            Neither Ingles nor CVS carries the big…See More

. . . from my book, "The Trouble with Mattie" . . .

. . . Mattie tried to reach for her phone. Again, she was blocked by the men.
"What are you trying to do?" she cried out; "I'm not your prisoner!" At that, she managed to slip out of her chair and head for the door. Two hands slammed the door shut before she could reach it. Slowly, she backed away from them, growing fear reflecting in her eyes . . .

(From my second Mattie's Mysteries Series, soon to be out)

. . . Mattie glanced in the rear view mirror and noticed a gray truck following closely behind.  When she sped up, the truck sped up; when she slowed down, the truck slowed down.  She pulled into a parking lot, wondering if the truck would follow her . . .

I read the reviews on amazon, read your blog... our library doesn't carry it.  I'll make a purchase request for it and they buy the book if it's not in the system in another county.  It sounds so real- like yo really did eat all that quiche and bumped into the tattoo man.  Did some of this really happen?  I blog about hte books I read if there isn't any swearing in em. Looking forward to reading the book.  Elizabeth (lisa)

Hi, Mary,

Yes, of course, both of us remember you, Mary, and we are delighted that your first book is going to be at the Hendersonville event.  We can't be there--previous engagements--because we now have 14 books between us so we are out there "peddling books" at every opportunity.

Our best wishes are with you.

I hope this gets to you, but I am unfamiliar with all this social networking stuff, but I'm willing, in your case, to give it a try.
