Good to hear from you. I am a fan of Garland Ferguson. He entered the regiment at 18 and served through the entire war, rising from the ranks to 2nd lieutenant. Lt. Ferguson was wounded three times. He credited my great-grandfather William Harrison Hargrove with saving his life at the Battle of Fort Stedman. In 1901 Judge Ferguson wrote a regimental history that was included in the following source: Garland S. Ferguson, “Twenty-Fifth Regiment,” Histories of the Several Regiments and Battalions from North Carolina, In the Great Civil War, vol. 2, Walter Clark, ed., 1901, p. 291.
You can access Walter Clark's book at the following website: http://digital.lib.ecu.edu/historyfiction/item.aspx?id=cr2
And if you have trouble finding it just send me your e-mail address and I will forward you an electronic copy of the document.

Best regards,
Carroll Jones
