THE TUCKASEEGEE CHRONICLES: Historical Novels of the Great Smoky Mountains (1750-1764)_____ <Artful Diplomacy>

In ARTFUL DIPLOMACY: Book 9 of the Tuckaseegee Chronicles, a large contingent of Cherokee headmen and British traders travel to Charles Town, South Carolina Colony, to meet Royal Governor James Glen in an attempt to alleviate the growing conflict among the English, French, Cherokee, and Creek Nations, whereupon the Ouku’s Right-Hand-Man Attakull’kulla and Great Warrior Agan’stata rise to greater prominence as spokesmen for a unified Cherokee Nation, and Dragging Canoe, the young son of Attakull’kulla makes an appearance. With English-Cherokee hostility becoming even worse, the Cherokee headmen return home and hold their own summit in Chota, which takes a surprising turn leading to great misfortune for Attakull’kulla. This raucous gathering, recounted by Standing Wolf to the traders waiting outside, was “not one of The People’s finer moments.” Joe Buck Cheatham, meanwhile, returns home to Cowee Town to discover that his beloved Quaytee has suffered misfortune of her own.

(The books follow a cast of characters during the years 1750-1764 and should be read in consecutive order.)
