I imagine myself pasting this notice on a real wall (weather-pocked limestone, ferns and moss profuse in the cracks):

I hope anyone who can will join me and my friends celebrating the launch of my novel, BASIL'S DREAM, this Sunday, May 17, 6-8 p.m., at the Pavilion on Warren Wilson College campus. We'll have food, music, books, and smiles on hand.

A smaller notice, pinned to the same wall, bears a question for Rob: Is it possible for my novel to be included on the list of WNC books?

Thanks, all! Hope to see you Sunday.

Hey, Cat--congratulations on your novel and newest review! Sure enjoyed meeting you in person at the Blue Ridge Book & Author event last weekend.

Hey, all! Take a look at the review of Kathryn's (Kat's) novel; and the first publisher feature. Go to the home page and check out the feature.

Hi, writers,

At the AWP conference in Chicago in February this group of writers pooled their marketing wisdom: http://squad365.blogspot.com/ The site offers "shameless marketing" tips. Enjoy!

There will be a writer's symposium on June 12 and 13 at Southwest Virginia Community College. The information is on their website.

Dear Kathryn Magendie:
Thank you for your response. I will look for your email and send you the information. I appreciate it very much.

Suzan - I wrote my first children's book review just recently: The Maggie Valley Trilogy by Kerry Madden.

The zine where I am co-managing editor (The Rose & Thorn) places children's book reviews on our MySpace page -- that may change as I want to move those to another site, but it will be fall most probably before I can do that. I'm working on the second book and it had a deadline of this summer's end.

I can't promise a review - but if you email me the information and/or links about the book, I can at least see if any staff members are available or will do children's books reviews.

Rob, I appreciate your prompt response ...looking forward to your feature on individual publishers.
Concerning English publishers...I wrote a novel "The Children of Sherlock Holmes" published by Pendium Publishing....can't recommend them....thought I would give Eng. Pub a try...
Again thanks

Ben, for my part, I'm intending to do features on individual publishers, and expanding the info on each one. I'm pretty sure this will get publishers involved in the conversation, for they need help, too.

Looking into English publishers is something I didn't consider, so thanks! Can you say a little more about what you're thinking in regard to English publishers? It would help me narrow my inquiry.

/Rob

Anyone have info on English book publishers? By English I mean England. I need a list and their submission requirements.
Any input would be appreciated.
