The WNC Historical Association presents an evening with Rodney Leftwich, a popular WNC potter, on April 4, 7 p.m., in Ferguson Auditorium on the A-B Tech campus. Leftwich will present a lecture and slide program on the forms of art pottery developed in and around WNC.
Rodney Leftwich is a potter, researcher, collector, curator, speaker, and author inspired by the folk and art traditions of WNC. He has 40 years of experience with the WNC traditions. He is a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, the Potters Council, the American Art Pottery Association, and the Southern Folk Pottery Collectors Society. See his website.
A preview exhibit of pieces from Leftwich’s collection will be held at the Smith McDowell House Museum prior to the lecture beginning at 6 p.m., and a reception will be held at the Museum after the lecture at 8 p.m.
