To coincide with Ann B. Ross’s upcoming release of her 14th Miss Julia novel, “Miss Julia Stirs up Trouble,” the Fountainhead Bookstore is holding a “Taste of Hendersonville Recipe Contest.”
In this newest installment of the Miss Julia series, Hazel Marie is in hot water when her housekeeper falls down some stairs and she must cook for her family even though she doesn’t know how.
The Taste of Hendersonville Recipe Contest asks, “What recipes would you share with Hazel Marie?”
The contest will have four categories: appetizer, entrée, dessert, and Mr. Pickens’ Favorite Snack. Only 14 entries per category will be accepted, and they must be pre-registered with the Fountainhead Bookstore by March 9.
Judging will take place on April 9. The panel of judges are: Laurie Bakke, published chef; Diane Sheiry, owner of the Waverly Inn; Raphael Soldati, retired banker and Miss Julia fan; and Barbara Volk, the mayor of Hendersonville.
Winners will receive a signed copy of “Miss Julia Stirs up Trouble” and a $25 gift certificate to the Fountainhead Bookstore.
Ann B. Ross will be at the Fountainhead Bookstore on April 9 for the official launch of “Miss Julia Stirs up Trouble” at 5 p.m.
For more information, see the press release for the contest and the official rules for the contest.
