Been absent from the discussion scene but not from work. Have been keeping myself busy writing a novel and working on revisions of short stories for a collection. Being a member of the NCWN-Netwest organization and working on their behalf to promote ECHOES ACROSS THE BLUE RIDGE, an outstanding anthology by members of Netwest, has led me to placing the book in various bookstores, gift shops, libraries, and any place I can manage to get my foot in the door.
For those of you who haven't seen the book or purchased the book, go to Malaprop's and take a look at it, read a few of the lovely poems by Nancy Simpson and Glenda Beall, peek at the first page of my new story....then buy the book and support our great western North Carolina writers. You won't regret it.
Also, keep you eyes open for entry into the competition of the Carl Sandburg Writer-in-Residence 3 week program upcoming for poets this year. The competition alternates annually between prose and poetry writers. This year Tommy Hayes and myself had the privilege of judging the entries along with three board members of Friends of Carl Sandburg Home and Work.
