The Buncombe County Heritage Council has created and installed 13 Civil War trail markers in Buncombe County as part of a seven-state program. The markers have been funded in North Carolina by the Tourism Development Authority and the Department of Commerce. Beware of the text for the markers on the Civil War Traveler site.
