West Virginia author Ann Pancake comes to the Burnsville Town Hall for a live, webcast program, Fri., Sept. 11, 2:45 p.m. as part of the Carolina Mountains Literary Festival, which also features, among many programs, a fundraising banquet with Pancake, 7 p.m. Sat.

Pancake's widely acclaimed novel, Strange as the Weather Has Been, follows a vivid set of characters living under the a mountaintop removal operation.

The talk-show format public discussion with Pancake will also be simulcast by the Asheville Citizen-Times on its website, with the ability for the online audience to interact.

I hope to attend, but I may be out of town (and as well, my deadline is fast looming for the TG sequel-getting a bit worried about that and having to sequester myself!)
