Event Description

Connie has delighted in offering storytelling workshops for over 25 years. A number of her past workshop participants have requested more advanced coaching in a group setting in which each person attending has experienced Connie’s approach to critical feedback with “appreciations” and are familiar with her ground rules for deep listening and partnering.“Taking Your Story to the Stage” is open only to those who have previously studied with Connie. If Connie has not heard you tell a story, a private coaching session may be required.

The focus of this workshop will be on performance. Each participant is asked to come with a story that is almost “stage ready.” We will begin on Friday evening with group and partner exercises and individual feedback designed to smooth rough edges and polish your story and performance.

We continue on Saturday and Sunday. In preparation for the performance, we will do sound and light checks and get comfortable with the performance space. On Sunday, we will meet at the theater, with doors opening at 6:30 pm to welcome a paying audience for the performance beginning at 7 pm. Connie will emcee the evening and introduce each storyteller who will have a (approximately) 14-16 minutes-long set (videographer services available at additional cost). On Monday, each participant will have the opportunity for reflection & self-assessment as well as receive individual feedback, appreciations, critique and suggestions from Connie and other participants.
