Dr. Ken Betsalel, Political Science Department, UNC Asheville, will discuss the local relevance of Dr. Mindy Fullilove’s book Root Shock: How Tearing Up City Neighborhoods Hurts America and What We Can Do About It. Dr. Betsalel is engaged in ongoing research on the effects of urban renewal in African-American neighborhoods in Asheville.
This free program will be Thursday, January 22 at 7pm at Pack Memorial Library.
Other programs follow at UNCA, 7 p.m. Feb. 27; A-B Tech, 2 p.m.; YMI, 7 p.m., Feb. 28; and A-B Tech, 2:30 p.m., Mar. 1.
