We are opening our 5th season of the reading series with an book release event for Charles Dodd White on Wednesday, November 17th at the Posana Cafe, 1 Biltmore Ave, Asheville NC. The reading will begin at 8:00 pm.
Charles Dodd White's forthcoming book: Lambs of Men, is published by Casperian Books and concerns a Marine Corps veteran returning to his Appalachian home shortly after the First World War. While dealing with the legacy of a troubled family history, he is drawn into a manhunt for a criminal. The violence he discovers is as harrowing as anything he witnessed on the battlefields of France. You can find more information at the publisher's website:

Charles is also co-editor of the contemporary Appalachian short story anthology DEGREES OF ELEVATION. He currently lives in Asheville, North Carolina where he teaches English at South College. His work is language-driven Appalachian fiction that balances realistic understatement with moments of lyricism, achieving a balance of power and nuance that have earned comparisons with Ron Rash, Charles Frazier
and William Gay.
