Event Description

Fiction and Photography - this evening will be devoted to Il Chiostro alumni sharing their work.

6-7pm Writers Read: selected students from Maureen Brady and Martha Hughes` writing workshops will read excerpts from their work. This presentation will be followed by a brief discussion with Marcella Smith, director of Small Press and Vendor Relations for Barnes & Noble Bookstores, about what is selling and what isn`t in today`s book market and what she specifically looks for in a book to be sold at B&N.

7-8pm Photography-Developing Your Personal Style: this hour will be moderated by Il Chiostro`s digital photography instructor, Dan Lipow who will speak about the importance of developing your eye to create your own artistic style in photography. Dan will introduce four Il Chiostro alumni, Robin Sacknoff, Anne Benvenuto, Andy Holtzman and Marcello Amari, who will show how they have been developing their own personal styles through samples of their recent work.

There will be time for a Q&A after each segment.

The presentations will take place at the gallery exhibiting the selected paintings and images of Italy that artists have done at various Il Chiostro workshops since 1995.
