Event Description

The Coffee of the Poet series continues on Thursday, January 19th at 10:30 a.m. at City Lights Bookstore. Poet, essayist and songwriter, Patrick Frank, will present his four collections of poetry. An Asheville resident, Patrick also writes political columns which frequently appear in the Asheville Citizen-Times. His reading will focus on homelessness and will feature an open discussion of the problems experienced by the homeless and those at risk for becoming homeless. Participants will also be encouraged to share creative work related to poverty or the homeless experience. Mr. Frank will share some of his original poetry and songs related to the pre-homeless and homeless experiences.

The Coffee with the Poet series is cosponsored by the North Carolina Writers Network and gathers the third Thursday of each month. To reserve Patrick Frank’s books or to learn more about Coffee with the Poet please call City Lights Bookstore at 828-586-9499.
