Event Description

The Black Mountain Authors Guild will present the second annual Holiday Book Sale at the Monte Vista Hotel on Thursday, December 21st, from 5 until 7.  All books are written by local authors and cover genres from children’s picture books to memoirs to historical novels.


This year, there will be a drawing, with the winner getting a box-o-books by the BMAG authors.


 Authors include Amy Allen (“Summoning the Mountains”),  Lois Chazen (Loving Ruby, Maddy Magoo's Animal Rescues:Tugen),  Pat Christie (The Education of Temple Fox), Sheridan Hill ( "My Name As A Prayer,"  "Helga."),  Jeff Hutchins (Bubbleland: Tales of Denton the Dragon), Karen Leonetti  (“Yummy Tummy Rainbow Garden”), David Madden (Pleasure-Dome, On the Big Wind, and Sharpshooter: A Novel of the Civil War, London Bridge in Plague and Fire), Martha Jane Peterson, (“Imagining My Inner Fire”),  Nancy Poling-Werking ((Had Eve come First and Jonah Been a Woman, Out of the Pumpkin Shell), Jerald Pope (The Minute Elf, An Early Appalachian Coloring Book), and many more.


Welcome, too, will be those who have finished their Christmas shopping and

just want to join the seasonal festivities.


The Monte Vista Hotel is located at 308 W. State Street in Black Mountain. A cash bar and free hors d’oeuvres will be available. For more information, call 686-3922.
