Event Description

Birke Baehr, thirteen-year old internationally known youth advocate on organic food and sustainable farming practices, will be at City Lights Bookstore on Saturday, March 30th at 3 p.m.  Baehr will discuss the problems of the industrialized food industry and offer solutions for alternative options of local, organic and sustainable food.  His book, Birke on the Farm, tells Birke’s story as a young boy reading about mercury levels in high fructose corn syrup to becoming a real voice for the local foods and sustainable farming movement.
