 Smith-McDowell House in Asheville, Sunday May 29 at 2:00 p.m. Admissio

 s and $7.00 to non-members. Russell worked with his cousin Karen Clina
 rd to edit and publish three daily journals kept by local resident Cor
 nelia Henry between 1860 and 1868. Fear in North Carolina, The Civil W
 ar Journals and Letters of the Henry Family, is a first-hand account o
 f the private lives of non-combatants in the Civil War era. Russell wi
 ll give a history of the West Asheville Sulphur Springs resort and Hen
 ry family, share various journal entries and discuss Cornelia’s comm
 ents on family life and other local happenings during wartime. A short
